Privacy Policy for ThinkKB
Effective Date: April 27, 2026
At ThinkKB, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy outlines how our browser extension handles information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
ThinkKB is designed with a "Local-First" philosophy. We collect the following types of data during an active recording session:
- Screenshots: Visual captures of the browser tabs you intentionally record.
- Event Logs: Technical metadata regarding click events and keyboard inputs used to generate documentation steps.
- User-Provided Configuration: Your LLM API key (stored locally).
2. How Data is Processed
Processing occurs through two primary channels:
- AI Analysis: Your recorded steps are sent to the Large Language Model (LLM) provider configured via your private API key to generate text drafts.
- Google Integration: When you choose to export, data is sent directly to your Google Drive and Google Docs account via official Google APIs.
3. Data Storage and Security
We do not maintain central servers to store your recordings. All data resides in:
- Local Storage: Information is kept in your browser's
chrome.storage.localarea. - No Remote Persistence: Once you delete a session or uninstall the extension, local data is removed. We do not have access to your screenshots or API keys.
4. Third-Party Access
ThinkKB does not sell or trade your data. Data is only shared with third parties you explicitly authorize (e.g., your LLM provider and Google LLC for document creation).
5. Compliance with Google API Services
ThinkKB's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Service User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
